CoolSculpting

What is CoolSculpting and what can it do for me?

CoolSculpting is a safe, non-invasive procedure proven to reduce fat. By exposing the desired treatment area to cold temperatures using a suction applicator, a number of the unwanted fat cells (typically 20-25%) will die. Your body will then eliminate these dead fat cells over the course of 1-3 months.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much fat will be reduced in one treatment? How many treatments will I need?

On average, you will see a 20-25% reduction in the fat that is drawn into the applicator every time you are treated. For some patients, one treatment is enough but for others, it can take several treatments in the same area to achieve desired results. There are a few factors that determine how many treatments will be required and how much fat can actually be reduced.

  1. Amount Of Volume/Opportunity In The Treatment Area. If the area has a substantial amount of fat, repeat treatments may be required. Think of it like peeling an apple.
  2. Type of Fat. There are two types of fat – Visceral Fat ( which sits behind the abdominal wall) and subcutaneous fat (that squishy kind found almost everywhere else). While subcutaneous fat responds very well to CoolSculpting, visceral fat does not. If a patient has a combination of both in the abdominal area, we can only reduce the part that can be squeezed with CoolSculpting. The good news is, visceral fat responds 2X as fast to exercise as subcutaneous fat, meaning that combining your CoolSculpting treatment with targeted abdominal exercise can produce fantastic results in the abdominal area.

Is it safe?

CoolSculpting is one of the world’s leading fat reduction devices and has been approved by Health Canada and available here in Canada for over 7 years (10 years on the U.S. market). The device has several safety features including temperature sensing technology that detects when the skin is becoming too cold. Although there are risks associated with the treatment, we have not experienced any negative side effects to date. We will discuss these risks during your assessment to determine if you are the right candidate for the treatment.

How much does it cost?

The price for CoolSculpting will vary greatly from patient to patient. Here at Chrysalis, we offer extremely competitive pricing on CoolSculpting and have recently lowered our prices by up to 30%. During your assessment, your CoolSculpting specialist will determine the amount of applicators required to complete your treatment area and give you exact pricing.
