Fraxel Laser

Fraxel is a non-invasive laser skin resurfacing treatment that improves the appearance of skin affected by sun damage, wrinkles and other signs of age, as well as acne scars, age spots and more. This laser technology is ideal for pigmented skin tones, types 4-6. Fraxel treatment targets single skin cells using microscopic lasers smaller than the width of a hair. The laser eliminates old, damaged skin cells and penetrates deep into the inner layers of the skin to encourage the body to produce fresh new skin cells and collagen.

At Chrysalis Rejuvenation Clinic, we offer laser skin resurfacing therapy using Fraxel laser technology. It provides similar results to DOT Therapy, but is more effective for certain skin types and requires only 2-3 days for recovery. We are able to customize the treatments in terms of aggressiveness, downtime, number of procedures needed and results.

We offer the Fraxel re:store® treatments for mild to severe skin damage.

Fraxel treatment can also provide a full-body solution for aging skin with minimal downtime or side effects.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT FRAXEL LASER THERAPY

How does Fraxel treatment work?
Fraxel is the pioneer of “fractional photothermolysis”, a technology in which thousands of microscopic laser columns – each just one-tenth the diameter of a hair follicle – treat a fraction of the skin at a time without affecting the surrounding tissue. These laser columns stimulate the production of younger, smoother, healthier skin to replace damaged tissue.

Is Fraxel laser treatment painful?
Most patients describe a “prickling” sensation during treatment. To minimize discomfort, topical anesthesia is applied before the procedure and cold air is used on the treatment area during the procedure. After the treatment, most patients feel like they have a mild sunburn, which usually diminishes in 1 to 3 hours.

How many treatments will I need?
This will depend on the Fraxel treatment that you and your clinician agree upon. Fraxel re:store can produce significant results for mild to moderately damaged skin over the course of 3-6 treatments.

How long is the recovery period?
2-3 days’ recovery is typical. Your skin may have a “bronzed” appearance for sometimes up to a week but most patients return to work and/or regular activities after 2-4 days.
